We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Group Director to lead and oversee our Influencer Marketing team. You will manage and drive key influencer marketing projects, develop innovative strategies, lead a growing department, and work closely with senior leadership to shape the future of our influencer marketing initiatives.
The Group Director, Influencer Marketing Strategy & Team Lead will be responsible for leading influencer programs from conception to execution, ensuring that campaigns meet both creative and performance objectives, while driving innovation in the space. You will manage both the tactical and strategic aspects of influencer partnerships, leveraging data and industry insights to optimize results, foster key relationships with talent, and position Rain as a leader in the influencer marketing space.
The location of this role can be remote, but travel and accommodating meetings in different times zones is required.
What does a Group Director, Influencer & Content Marketing do at Rain the Growth Agency?
Strategic Campaign Leadership & Execution:
- Lead the end-to-end development and execution of influencer campaigns, working closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the alignment of goals and objectives.
- Spearhead the identification, outreach, and negotiation of influencer partnerships across various platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), with a keen focus on innovative talent strategies and ROI-driven results.
- Lead the development and presentation of campaign proposals, influencer lists, and campaign briefs, ensuring they meet the creative, operational, and financial goals of our clients
- Drive the integration of influencer strategies into broader marketing campaigns, ensuring synergy across all touchpoints (social media, content creation, CRM, etc.).
- Lead post-campaign analysis, providing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
New Business & Thought Leadership:
- Act as a subject matter expert in influencer marketing, continuously researching industry trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies.
- Develop and present strategic new business proposals, including influencer identification, vendor selection, and cost efficiency optimization.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to position Rain as an innovator in the influencer marketing space through thought leadership content, case studies, and industry event participation.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Develop and implement processes and best practices to ensure the smooth execution of influencer campaigns.
- Manage the workload and distribution of responsibilities within the team, ensuring timely and efficient campaign delivery.
- Cultivate a strong team dynamic and cross-departmental collaboration, working alongside creative, content, and account teams to drive holistic campaign success.
Client and Partner Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key clients, partners, and influencers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and ongoing collaboration.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on influencer marketing trends, best practices, and industry shifts.
Reporting & Analytics Leadership:
- Lead the development of sophisticated, data-driven reporting and analytics, translating raw campaign data into actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Integrate performance outputs into Rain’s campaign performance dashboards – generating insights, and key learnings that inform future strategies along the way.
What do we look for in a Group Director, Influencer & Content Marketing at our agency?
- Proven experience in influencer marketing, social media strategy, or digital marketing with a minimum of 7+ years in the field with at least 5 year in influencer marketing specifically.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of social platforms, strategy, and digital marketing landscape (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitch, etc.).
- Expertise in influencer partnerships, contract negotiations, campaign management, and post-campaign analysis.
- Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and continuous optimization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and push boundaries in influencer and social media marketing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and influencer marketing tools/platforms.
- A degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
