This is a senior-level advertising agency position with our media planning team, supporting the creation and analysis of clients’ media campaigns. Your efforts will play a key part in our clients’ overall success, and you'll join a close-knit, collaborative Media Planning team.
While remote, this person will be available to work East Coast Hours.
What does a Director of Media Planning do at Rain the Growth Agency?
Oversee the strategic development of multi-channel media plans that drive business growth for our clients.
- Cross Channel Planning; Linear TV, CTV, YouTube, Audio, Print, OOH, Social, Search
- Plan a mix of national and local campaigns targeting KPIs in both brand and performance metrics, leading with reach and frequency as a primary KPI
- Leverage proprietary in-house and third-party data to effectively target audiences
- Manipulate planning platforms to evaluate data sets
- Work in conjunction with communications planning, brand planning and creative teams, to ensure strategy is on target from both brand and direct goals
- Proficiently evaluate response data and media attribution modeling outputs to inform future plan recommendations
Develop strong client relationships by being passionate and curious about clients’ business with a strong and informed point of view on budget allocation.
- Present results and recommended actions to day-to-day client team
- Bring a full funnel mindset to the evaluation of client data
- Share learnings across media planning team
- Present and sell out of box media ideas, to expand clients’ media footprint
- Express yourself powerfully and clearly in your written objectives, strategies, and POVs
- Development of junior staff as well as partners and peers across all departments to ensure high quality and consistent client service for all clients
Learn, utilize and participate in development of proprietary agency technology, platforms and attributions models for maximum campaign performance.
Participate in business development.
- Prepare and pitch media strategies enthusiastically

What do we look for in a Media Planning Director at our agency?
- At least 10 years of experience in agency media planning
- Expertise in planning online and offline media channels
- Understanding of advertising, marketing, and media buying
- Familiarity with the accelerated growth goals of entrepreneurial clients
- A data-driven, detail-oriented, analytical mind
- Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel
- Experience with Nielsen/Comscore, R/F planning and reporting, Commspoint, Competitive Tracking Tools, MRI (or similar tools)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Stays on top of current trends, and willing to take calculated risks
- Strong leader and mentor
- Experience and interest in participating in new business pitches
