Supervisor, Media Planning

Department: MMSI- Media Planning
Location: Remote

At a glance:

This is a supervisory position on the Media Planning team. This person will provide strategic direction while developing targeted media plans (Linear and CTV), helping expand client relationships, and maintaining media schedules/budgets for key MMSI clients. This Supervisor will work across agency teams on new business proposals, analysis/optimizations for existing clients, and growing existing business. This role provides the opportunity to train, mentor, and collaborate with Planners and Coordinators.

This role is remote, but periodic travel and accommodating meetings in different US time zones is expected.

What does a Supervisor, Media Planning do at MMSI?

  • Works with the team to develop direct response linear TV media plans which may also include online and other offline media channels such as print and radio
  • Partners with Digital and CTV team as needed to incorporate online media into integrated media plans
  • Pulls and interprets research/insight reports to formulate media strategies to meet client objectives
  • Helps with new business pitches from a strategy/planning perspective
  • Works with Media and Client Services to plan and strategize based on a client’s brief
  • Develops and analyzes media results to optimize campaigns across media channels, placements, products, and creative, ultimately delivering optimal performance
  • Works with advanced analytics partners to review cross-channel impacts and media contributions by channel, gauging media performance and KPIs to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met, and to formulate an optimization plan
  • Keeps abreast of current media trends and marketplace conditions
  • Works with the Client Services to develop/enhance client relationships
  • Maintains constant communication with Media, Client Services and Operations to monitor account activity
  • Travels to client meetings as required

What do we look for in a Supervisor, Media Planning at our agency?

  • At least 10+ years’ experience in agency media planning and buying for national accounts
  • Must have experience in linear and performance/response-driven media
  • Cross-channel planning experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Experience with research/insight tools like Nielsen Impact, Commspoint, MRI, YouGov, Kantar, Pathmatics, and/or Comscore
  • Strong analytical and advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking/direction. A critical thinker and good problem-solver
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organizational and influencing skills
  • Ability to tell a story through the use of data
  • Proactive, self-directed and well organized
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, with a focus on achieving goals
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Stays on top of current trends and calculated risk-taker
  • Strong mentor
  • Loves to pitch new ideas and strategies
