Media Operations Specialist

Department: IMI- Short Form
Location: Portland, OR

At a glance:

This is a position with our Media Investment team supporting both the Media Investment and Data Ops teams with vital day-to-day operational functions of our clients’ campaigns. This is a data management role that is responsible for the fundamentals of budget & results tracking for our clients.

While this role is remote, the individual hired must be able to, periodically, work from our Portland, OR campus.

What does a Media Operations Specialist do at Rain the Growth Agency?

  • Closely track, enter and report post logs for all media outlets.
    • Includes Broadcast Networks, National Cable, Syndication, Local Broadcast, Audio etc.
    • Retrieve and enter data for post log times for all media campaigns
    • Master Rain systems/software/processes including the log processor and Tracker
    • Able to identify and clearly communicate any log to media buyers
    • Resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion with buyer feedback
    • Learn and adapt log entry based on buyer feedback and station nuances
    • Request missing logs and coordinate with buyers to make sure logs are received within week and are accurate
    • Independently troubleshoot and problem solve on day-to-day tasks
    • Maintain and update network log contact information as needed
    • Daily data entry should be accurate and entered in a timely manner
    • Use clear and prompt communication with everyone on the team and other departments
    • Balance multiple priority requests daily
    • Collaborate with Programmers on improvements with Tracker and streamlining processes
  • Media Traffic duties and maintenance
    • Accurate and timely data management, analysis, quality control and entry of data into internal system
    • Assign tracking codes to new media
    • Provide detailed traffic instructions to the appropriate video distribution houses
    • Set-up ads in internal system and work with video distribution houses
    • Assist buyers in tracking of creative tapes to stations
    • Relay tracking information from the dub house to the buyer in a timely manner
    • Send media assignments to telemarketers to ensure number is active in time for airing and test media assignments
    • Prepare media schedules and call projections for telemarketers
    • Research any possible telemarketing problems when questions arise regarding reporting/800 number working, etc.
    • Manage title listing database and reporting to 3rd party vendors
  • Data Operations Support
    • Compile data from various sources (Google Analytics, Adobe, Shopify, Amazon, etc.)
    • Accurately and efficiently upload data into our proprietary database for analysis, manually inputting data as needed

What do we look for in a Media Operations Specialist at our agency?

  • 1-2 years of data entry or analysis experience, with a background in marketing, advertising, or sales preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, and Outlook, with advanced knowledge of pivot tables and v-look ups
  • Possessing strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Being a self-starter with good initiative and persistency
  • A go-getter who can work independently
