Assistant Media Planner/Buyer

Department: Media Planning
Location: Remote

At a glance:

This is an entry-level advertising agency position on our media team, with a focus on our video practice. This role will support end-to-end activation of national and local video campaigns, across the planning and investment teams. The role includes creation, analysis and day to day management of tv campaigns, as well as buy management functions.

What does an Assistant Media Planner/Buyer do at Rain the Growth Agency?

  • Manage client campaign reporting
    • Master use of planning and buying database (Rain Tracker) and Client Dashboards (Salesforce Datorama).
      • Pull reports and monitor campaign performance
      • Evaluate optimization recommendations
    • Utilize appropriate planning tools, MRI, Media Impact, Kantar, Nielsen, etc… to pull reports as input for media plans.
    • Maintain and organize data using Excel.
    • Use data to creatively showcase weekly client facing reporting.
    • Participate in weekly client performance calls/meetings.

  • Buy management support for assigned networks/media outlets
    • Closely track, enter and report pre and post logs
    • Learn basic buying tasks. (Booking orders, dub orders, traffic, revisions, reconciliation, S&P, etc.)

  • Be an active and engaged member of the team.
    • Support the Media Planning team across multiple accounts in the creation of media strategies and plans based on client brief.
    • Present your point of view confidently and persuasively.
    • Be a continuous learner.
    • Participate in internal and client meetings by sharing your thoughts and ideas.
    • Continually grow your knowledge of new and emerging media and technologies.
    • Build rapport with other departments such as Digital Media, Client Service, Partnerships, Project Managers, Analytics, Accounting, etc.

  • Maintain a high level of work quality.
    • Always keep an open dialogue with your team.
    • Consistently meet deadlines to deliver on needs of the team and clients.
    • Able to troubleshoot when faced with challenges.

  • Experience using Excel to analyze data a must
